Selenium is a mineral that is absolutely essential for proper thyroid function. Selenium is highly concentrated in the thyroid gland, more so than in any other organ in the human body, indicating its role in normal thyroid function. It acts as an antioxidant that protects the thyroid gland, a cofactor nutrient that facilitates the production of thyroid hormone, and as a nutrient that is required to facilitate the conversion of T4 to T3 and also prevent the conversion of T3 into inactive, or reverse T3. Hypothyroidism can arise from many causes, however when the cause is an overabundance of reverse T3 many times the simple solution is providing enough selenium for this conversion.

In rabbits, fetal weight reduction and cleft palate were observed at a fluticasone propionate dose approximately times the MRHDID for adults (on a mg/m² basis at a maternal subcutaneous dose of 4 mcg/kg/day). However, no teratogenic effects were reported at fluticasone propionate doses up to approximately 20 times the MRHDID for adults (on a mg/m² basis at a maternal oral dose up to 300 mcg/kg/day). No fluticasone propionate was detected in the plasma in this study, consistent with the established low bioavailability following oral administration [see CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY ].

As Stribild contains elvitegravir, cobicistat, emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, any interactions that have been identified with these active substances individually may occur with Stribild. Stribild is indicated for use as a complete regimen for the treatment of HIV-1 infection and must not be administered with other antiretroviral products. Therefore, information regarding drug-drug interactions with other antiretroviral products (including protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors) is not provided (see section ). Interaction studies have only been performed in adults.
